 FREE Fishing Seminars

Don’t let the BIG one get away! Local experts and pro anglers will share tips and tricks to help you improve your catch. Hourly sessions for both saltwater and freshwater fishing cover techniques, tackle, hot spots and much more. Fishing seminars can be found on the main floor next to the Bass Tank in space L28.

Fred's Shed Interactive Learning Center

If you’re interested in learning what it takes to maintain, repair or upgrade your boat or engine, head to Fred’s Shed for practical, professional advice. Free seminars cover a variety of topics, include demonstrations of techniques and tools on boat and motor cutaways, and end with question/answer sessions. Come with your questions and projects to discuss—and leave with the know-how, confidence and inspiration to do it yourself.
 
Together, “The Boating Guy,” and certified marine service technician “Fred, The Outboard Doctor,” bring more than 50 years of boating and “wrench-slinging” experience to the Shed.

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Safety Seminars

 
All About Boating Safety Introductory Course
If you are interested in an exciting, in-depth boating safety course, check out the in classroom (seminar) version of our popular online boating course at the Progressive Atlanta Boat Show.
 
This boating class will give you the knowledge needed to obtain a boat license or safety certification in most states. Many boat insurance companies will offer discounts on boating insurance to boaters who successfully complete About Boating Safely.

 Paddle Sports America (one hour version)
 Canoeists and kayakers are boaters also. Now, there is a course available to address the unique needs of this audience. Paddlesports America is an exciting safety course designed to attract the novice paddle enthusiasts.

           Saturday, January 14,  2pm – 3pm

Vessel Safety Check
Even the most cautious boaters can sometimes experience unexpected problems on the water. The courtesy Vessel Safety Check (VSC) is performed at your boat – whether in a slip, at the launch ramp, or in your driveway – by a certified Vessel Examiner, at a mutually-convenient time, and usually takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending upon the size of your boat. This one hour seminar will provide you the details to have your vessel checked by a certified Vessel Examinar.
